PHPC: Book project is collecting Portuguese-American stories – California

The Portuguese Heritage Publications of California (PHPC) is calling for Portuguese-American stories for a new book project. Portuguese-American author Frank Gaspar is writing the introduction and Tony Goulart is the project coordinator.

PHPC is seeking non-fiction and poetry submissions about the experience of California’s Portuguese-Americans, historical stories, family remembrances, humorous tales, romantic trysts, legends and more for a new anthology.

PHPC encourages any contributions from anyone who wants to share from memory a life experience from an anecdote to an adventure or a family story.

PHPC is particularly interested “in all sorts of immigrant stories about Portuguese-Americans in California– stories should be 2-4 pages in length and include a photo when possible. Poetry about people or events involving Portuguese-Americans in California is also acceptable.”

Portuguese Heritage Publications of California, Inc. is a non-profit organization 501 c (3), created to research, preserve and disseminate vanishing memories and current relevant events about the Portuguese presence in California.

The new extended deadline is March 28th, 2014. Please send your contributions to:
