University of the Azores hosting EcoMod2011 – Conference

The EcoMod 2011 conference, sponsored by the international  EcoMod’s Modeling School, will take place at the University of the Azores from June 29 to July 1. Mário Fortuna, Gualter Couto and Pedro Pimentel are the local organizing committee.

The goal of the conference is to promote the exchange of ideas among economists conducting quantitative analysis for policy and decision-making in the public and private sector. The conference will cover all areas of applied modeling in economics.

All the papers presented at the conference will be published on a CD-ROM by the EcoMod Press in the conference proceedings. The papers will also be posted in PDF format on the conference web site.

The EcoMod’s Modeling School offers the world’s leading professional training programs in general equilibrium, macroeconometric and financial modeling in the field of policy modeling with experts from more than 100 countries.

The University of the Azores (UAc) was created in 1976 and is established in the three main islands: São Miguel, Terceira and Faial. It has over 4,000 students in nearly 60 courses covering all levels of post-secondary and higher education, in a broad spectrum of areas, from Literature and History through Economy and Management to the Exact and Natural Sciences.
