Travel: SATA offering new flight connections from Chicago and New York – Azores

Beginning April, SATA International has doubled its weekly service from the U.S. to the Azores and mainland Portugal, including a new non-stop direct flight to Lisbon.

All flights connect through Boston’s Logan Airport, where SATA International has non-stop three times a week service to the Azores with continuing service to Lisbon.

A recent agreement between SATA International and U.S. Airways will also add new flight connections from Chicago and New York to the Azores and Lisbon.

All of SATA International’s flights to the Azores connect on to Lisbon, but this is the first direct spring flight to Portugal’s capital ever offered by the airline.

Recently, the Azores based SATA International had announced flight connections from San Francisco to the Azores and Lisbon in partnership with Virgin America Airlines.

SATA International also formed a partnership with Canadian Westjet, the second largest Canadian airline, to provide air services between the Canada and the Azores.

Under the agreement, SATA International offers flights between Canada and to Azores though Toronto and Montreal with connecting flights from Winnipeg, Vancouver, Calgary or Ottawa.

SATA Internationahas been connecting the Azores and mainland Portugal for more than 37 years in addition to a number of destinations in Europe and Brazil. SATA offers air services to Lisbon, Madeira and Porto from the Azores. Inter-island flights are offered to each of the islands in the Azores as well.
