Streamlining its operations, Azores Airlines, the transatlantic carrier of the Azores archipelago operated by Grupo SATA, has made changes to its North American network for the summer 2025 season, dropping several routes introduced in 2024, while introducing new routes.
To focus on core markets while enhancing connectivity through its hub in Ponta Delgada, Azores Airlines will continue to offer air links between the Azores and the US, including year-round service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Ponta Delgada (São Miguel Island), with three weekly flights, some operated via Lisbon.
During the summer peak season (June through September), service will increase to six weekly flights, excluding Saturdays.
For the Canada Service, Azores Airlines offers year-round nonstop flights from Ponta Delgada to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). The Montreal, Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) seasonal service will resume in July and August.
As part of its recent revised strategy, for the summer of 2025, Azores Airlines will not continue the nonstop routes for Funchal (Madeira) to Boston, New York (JFK), and Porto to Boston, New York (JFK).
Instead, the airline will provide convenient one-stop connections, from Porto to Boston and New York via Ponta Delgada, and from Funchal to New York and Toronto via Ponta Delgada.
The following routes will remain suspended: Terceira to Oakland, Ponta Delgada to Bermuda, and Ponta Delgada to London Gatwick.
These adjustments underscore Azores Airlines’ commitment to optimizing transatlantic operations and strengthening its position in key North American markets.
Azores Airlines connects the Azores with several European cities, including, Portugal: Lisbon, Porto, Faro, and Funchal (Madeira); France: Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport); Germany: Frankfurt; Spain: Barcelona and Bilbao; Italy: Milan (Malpensa Airport); and Cape Verde: Praia (Nelson Mandela International Airport).
Azores Airlines operates a modern fleet of Airbus aircraft, including the A320-200, A320neo, A321neo, and A321LR. For more information or to book flights, visit Azores Airlines online.
