Summer course on Climate Change and Renewable Energy – Azores

A Summer course on Climate Change and Renewable Energy, within the context of sustainable development, is scheduled for July 18-28, 2011, in Ponta Delgada, Azores, co-sponsored by the University of Azores, the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), the University of Akureyri (Iceland) and the International Sustainability Network CRUSUS. 

The course offers an updated, integrated, and systemic view of the most relevant aspects of policies and mechanisms facing climate change and energy security.  

Students will have an overview of the current adaptation and mitigation measures facing climate change and fossil fuel depletion. They will also learn how to apply sustainability management practices and indicators and report on them in enterprises of several sectors.

The course is recommended for students and professionals in engineering, economics, administration and management, agronomy, communications, journalism, and environmental sciences, who are working in the energy, transport, oil & gas, industry, agriculture and forestry sectors.

CRUSUS  – The Sustainability Crusade Observatory –  was founded by Wilson Jordão Filho and Ticiano Costa Jordão, lecturers and researchers at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic. CRUSUS is dedicated to the study of environmental sustainability issues with the mission to educate and inform with the goal of improving sustainability awareness.
