The Fulbright Portugal Program is accepting applications for scholarships awards to Portuguese students and researchers wishing to pursue masters and doctoral studies and/or research projects in universities and resaerch institutions in the United States. Applications must be submitted between February 1 and March 28, 2013.
The Fulbright Program program also provides eligible U.S. citizens with funding to study and do research in a foreign country under the U.S. Student Program, U.S. Scholar Program, and Teacher Exchange Program, and non-U.S. citizens to come to the U.S. study and do research under the Foreign Student Program, Visiting Scholar Program, and the Teacher Exchange Program.
The Fulbright Program, competitive and merit-based, is one of the most prestigious awards programs worldwide, operating in over 155 countries including Portugal, providing 8,000 grants annually to undertake graduate study, advanced research, university lecturing, and classroom teaching.
Established in 1946, the Fulbright Program is sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright Program. The program was established to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills.
