The Diáspora Golf tournament will return to the picturesque Amarante Golf Course on 26 July 2025, bringing together golf enthusiasts and members of the Portuguese diaspora for a unique celebration of sport, heritage, and culture.
The event blends competitive play with social and cultural experiences in the heart of northern Portugal, offering participants the opportunity to reconnect with their roots while enjoying one of the country’s most scenic golf destinations.
Situated near the Douro Valley and just 45 minutes from Porto, the Amarante Golf Course offers a challenging 18-hole layout at 600 meters above sea level. Designed by architect Jorge Santana da Silva, the course features narrow fairways, undulating terrain, and elevated greens. The signature 4th hole, a par-4 with a green perched 10 meters above the fairway, is especially popular among players.
More than a tournament, Diáspora Golf is a community experience. Alongside the competition, participants and their families can enjoy guided visits to the Douro region, local wineries, and cultural landmarks. The event also offers non-golfers a variety of leisure activities, ensuring an inclusive atmosphere for all ages.
Registration is now open, and early booking is recommended. Green fees at Amarante range from approximately €70 for 18 holes to €45 for 9 holes during peak season, with buggy rentals available. For more information or to register, visit www.diasporagolf.pt
