Portuguese race walker Ines Henriques won the women’s IAAF Race Walking challenge in Chihuahua, Mexico, March 6. Henriques, who headed the Portuguese delegation, took the lead from the start followed closely by Australian champion Claire Tallent.
After staging the IAAF World Race Walking Cup last year, Chihuahua hosted 137 athletes from 13 countries, including 124 locals, who took the two-kilometer circuit on the Deportiva Sur Avenue in four distances 1430m above sea level: 10km for juniors, 20km and 50km.
