The Luso- American Development Foundation (FLAD) based in Lisbon, Portugal, has created a scholarship program aimed at American scholars interested in researching Portuguese topics.
The goal is to promote the study of the history and culture of Portugal aiming a strengthening the scientific and cultural relations between Portugal and the United States.
Grants are available to American researchers interested in developing research projects in partnership with the national archives at Direcção-Geral de Arquivos
The deadline for applications is March 15, 2011.
FLAD is a private, financially independent Portuguese institution created in 1985. Its main goal is to contribute towards the developemnt of Portugal by providing financial and strategic support for innovative projects that foster cooperation between Portuguese and American civil society.
