Tthe fastest growing answering service in North American, Specialty Answering Service  (SAS),  announced today it plans to open call centers in Portuguese in the near future. According to Esther Cardin, SAS’s marketing coordinator, potential customers are asking more and more for the Portuguese language option.

According to the statement released today by (SAS), Portuguese language call centers seem to be the next frontier in the industry. Ccurrently in the United States, Portuguese is spoken by approximately three-quarters of a million people.   Additionally there are about 200,000 Portuguese speaking people in Canada.  In the United States, there are pockets of large populations of Portuguese speaking individuals scattered throughout the country. 

 These pockets exist in segments of California, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. There are also areas located in Canada where the language is prevalent.  

The Portuguese speaking individuals located in areas of Toronto and Montreal. The Caribbean and Bermuda also support a large Portuguese speaking population.
