Portuguese design agency Artlandia Design was distinguished with the 2012 “Red Dot Communication Design Awards, ” one of the most prestigious design awards worldwide, for the work of graphic designer by Beatriz Horta Correia.
Correia designed a three volume book collection titled, The RA Collection of Chinese Ceramics: A Collector’s Vision, (pp.1200) authored by Maria Antónia Pinto de Matos, issued in Portuguese and English, by Jorge Welsh Books publishers. The book was selected among 6.823 submissions from 43 countries across the globe.
Maria Antónia Pinto de Matos, the current curator of Portugal’s National Museum of Tiles [Museu Nacional do Azulejo], is one of the world’s most respected specialists in Chinese porcelain. The three volume collection took 11 years to complete.
The collection, published in São Paulo, London and Lisbon is considered to be the best work yet written on Chinese export porcelain and is one of the best a resources for collectors, dealers and curators for years to come.
Baetriz Horta Correia, 50, the founder with Miguel Gaspar of Lisbon based Arlandia Design Atelier, has been distinguished with many national and international awards namely the European Design Annual, Certificate of Excellent 2000.
The award will be presented in October 2102, in Berlin, Germany, at the Red Dot national gala.
The Red Dot Design Award is an international product design prize awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. Highly competitive, the “Red Dot Design Award” receives over 11,000 submissions from 61 countries each year. The Red Dot award: Communication Design is awarded for achievements in the fields of corporate design, advertising, interactive media or sound design.
