Culinary arts courses for international students – Portugal

The Turismo de Portugal Hotel Schools, in partnership with École Hôtelière de Lausanne (Switzerland), is sponsoring culinary arts courses to provide technical training in Portuguese cuisine to international professional cooks.

The courses, scheduled for the academic year of 2011-12, have a duration of 3 semesters and are taught at the Hotel School of Estoril and the Hotel School of Lisbon.

The courses are tuition based and designed for professional chefs in the tourism sector. Participants will earn academic credits to pursue higher education.

To qualify, applicants must have a secondary level education or equivalent. All classes are taught in English. The training includes workshops and seminars in the areas of gastronomy and wine tutoring.

The Turismo de Portugal Hotel Schools represent a network of 16 schools that provide tourism vocational education and training for young students and professionals.

École Hôteliére de Lausanne, with 118 years of training experience, was the first hotel school in the world and it is internationally recognized as one of the best.
