Community: Catholic University of Portugal takes US Roadshow – March 1-10

A delegation of representatives of the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) [Universidade Católica Portuguesa] is visiting universities in the United States, March 1-10, to share its present accomplishments and projects for the future.

This is also an opportunity for the university to honor its past and thank the Portuguese American community for its support.

The new Católica Fellowship Program for Portuguese-American Students (CFPA) and the Catholic Alumni USA Network will also be announced on this occasion.

The events will take place in the cities of New Bedford and Boston (MA); Providence (RI); New York (NY); Washington (DC); San Francisco and San Jose (CA).

The university will be represented by Rector Prof. Maria da Glória Garcia, two Vice-Rectors and several Deans, and the President of the Católica Alumni Association.

Established in 1967, under the tutelage of the Catholic Church, the UCP has its main headquarters in Lisbon, and additional campuses in Viseu, Porto and Braga, mainland Portugal.

One of the largest universities in Portugal, UCP offers courses in Business, Economics, Architecture, Law, Media and Cultural Studies, Civil Engineering and Dental Medicine.

According to the QS World University Rankings, the Catholic University of Portugal is within the world’s 600 best universities.  The Financial Times (UK) has ranked the Catholic University School of Business and Economics the best in Portugal and 25th in Europe.

The UCP US Roadshow program  is cosponsored by the Embassy of Portugal in the United States; Consulate of Portugal in Boston; Consulate of Portugal in New Bedford; Consulate of Portugal in San Francisco and the Arte Institute (NYC).
