The Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMD) has announced its 21st Annual Summer Program in Portuguese scheduled for July 8 through August 14.
The five week program offers six credit courses to undergraduate and high school students at all levels of linguistic and academic proficiency.
With the option of stay on campus or commute, students will receive classroom instruction and will be exposed to diverse co-curricular immersion cultural experiences. The UMass Dartmouth summer program also offers two online courses concurrent with the on-campus language programs.
The cost for this six-credit Summer Program is $2,010. A limited number of scholarships, sponsored by the Portugal-based Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), are available based on academic merit and financial need. On-campus housing is available for an additional fee. Excursion and restaurant fees are not part of the program fee. The deadline for applications is July 1. Classes begin July 8, 2014.
