About the Author

Angela Costa Simões is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in English in 1998. She later founded Riso Books in 2013. Angela has also played an active leadership role within the Portuguese-American community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Portuguese American Leadership Council of the United States (PALCUS) since 1999 and on the Board of Directors of West to West from 2016 to 2018. Since October 2015, she has worked as an independent PR and Communications Consultant, bringing decades of expertise to a broad range of clients and initiatives.
