“Walking on Dry Land” unveils family secrets – Book

Denis Kehoe, an Irish writer based in Dublin, is the author of Walking On Dry Land (2011) a cross-cultural novel about a young Portuguese woman, Ana de Castro, searching for her biological mother.

The narrative deals with the unvailing of family secrets, missing parents, secret children and betrayals.

The narrative moves between Ana’s quest for her past  in the Angolan capital, Luanda, and the development of Helena and José’s relationship. The setting is ditactor Salazar’s Portugal of the 1960s and 1970s.

Kehoe’s debut novel, Nights Beneath the Nation, was published in 2008.
