Sports | Cristiano Ronaldo LIFE Museum opens in Hong Kong – China

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has chosen Hong Kong as the launch site for his first-ever touring CR7® LIFE Museum in Asia. The immersive exhibition will remain in the city for one year before relocating to mainland China.

Spanning 12,000 square feet, the museum offers fans a high-tech, interactive journey through Ronaldo’s life and career, featuring over 40 exhibits including match-worn jerseys, trophies such as the Ballon d’Or and Golden Boot, a replica of his childhood bedroom, and an exclusive VR studio experience.

The decision to open the museum in Hong Kong was both strategic and symbolic. According to Ronaldo’s global team, the city is seen as the “door to Asia” thanks to its massive regional fan base, strong tourism infrastructure, and cultural sophistication.

“Cristiano’s journey is about ambition, transformation, and global inspiration—Hong Kong mirrors that energy,” said Tomás Froes, a creative lead on the project.

The launch also supports Hong Kong’s broader vision of becoming a regional leader in sports-cultural tourism, with the CR7® LIFE Museum expected to draw more than 12 million visitors for its Hong Kong run.

While no exact date has been confirmed, Ronaldo is expected to visit the Hong Kong site personally during the exhibition’s one-year tenure. Fans in Asia can now explore the legacy of one of the world’s most iconic athletes, right in the heart of Asia.

This is the second museum dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo’s memorabilia. The CR7 Museum, officially known as Museu CR7, is located in Funchal, Madeira, the birthplace of global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo. Opened in December 2013 and later expanded in 2016, the museum is integrated with the Pestana CR7 Hotel on Praça CR7, facing the harbor. It features an extensive collection of Ronaldo’s career memorabilia—from his early years at local clubs to his triumphs with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr, and the Portugal national team. A prominent bronze statue of Ronaldo stands outside, drawing thousands of fans for photo ops. Inside the museum, visitors will find more than 126 trophies, including Ballon d’Ors, Champions League titles, and various FIFA awards.

In addition, the Madeira International Airport (IATA: FNC, ICAO: LPMA), located near Funchal on Madeira island, was officially renamed as Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport in honor of the island-born football legend Cristiano Ronaldo — the change was announced in 2016 and formally unveiled on March 29, 2017, during a public ceremony.
