The International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA) will return on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for its 14th annual edition at the Providence Performing Arts Center, bringing together leading artists from across the global Portuguese-speaking world.
The event, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and hosted by Daniella Ruah and Ricardo Farias, will be broadcast internationally, continuing its mission of celebrating the richness and diversity of Lusophone music.
Founded in 2013, the IPMA has become one of the premier international showcases for artists of Portuguese descent, recognizing excellence across genres including pop, rock, fado, hip-hop, and traditional music.
This year’s lineup features high-profile performers such as Calema, D.A.M.A, Richie Campbell, Némanus, Assol Garcia, and Nelson Sobral, reflecting the global scope of Portuguese-language music today. The awards also spotlight emerging voices through a live New Talent competition, offering a platform for the next generation of performers.
The IPMA continues to strengthen cultural ties across the Portuguese diaspora, particularly in New England, where Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts are home to vibrant Portuguese, Azorean, Brazilian, and Cape Verdean communities.
“The IPMA is more than an awards show. It is a celebration of identity, heritage, and the global reach of our music,” organizers note, highlighting the event’s role in connecting artists and audiences across continents.
The International Portuguese Music Awards, broadcast to millions of viewers worldwide, has grown into a key cultural moment on the Lusophone calendar, elevating Portuguese-language music on the international stage while reinforcing Providence’s position as a hub for Portuguese-American popular culture.
