The University of the Azores, Educational Sciences Department, is hosting the 1st International Conference on Education, Curriculum and Pedagogy to be held in Ponta Delgada, October 27-29, in partnership with the Regional Government of the Azores, Office of Science and Technology (DRDT).
Educators from Europe, United States and South America, will debate current issues in educational pedagogy and practice such as teacher education and professional development, curriculum development, technology in education and research practices, from an interdisciplinary, transnational perspective.
The main goal is to exchange scientific knowledge and research findings and also an opportunity for faculty and student-teachers, at the University of the Azores, to participate in an international event where the most current theories and models for education will be debated.
Professor António Nóvoa, from the University of Lisbon, will be the keynote speaker. The conference was organized by Professor Emanuel Oliveira Medeiros from the University of the Azores.
The University of the Azores, founded in 1976, is a public university, the only university in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. The university is established in three campuses, in Ponta Delgada (São Miguel), Angra do Heroísmo (Terceira) and Horta (Faial) and organized into departments and schools.
