Wines of Portugal 2011 – San Francisco, CA

 A grand wine tasting benefiting Meals on Wheels, sponsored by 45 wineries, will present more than 150 Portuguese wines on Wednesday, April 06, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, on One Leidesdorff Building, 344 Pine Street (Between Sansome and Montgomery) – San Francisco, CA.

The wines of Portugal event will provide a tasting experience across the range of Portugal’s wines, from the dry reds of Bairrada to the delicious whites of the Minho,  from the newly renamed Tejo and Lisbon regions to the progressive offerings from Alentjo and Douro.

In addition, the hosting  wineries will feature their latest vintages at this winetasting event. Appetizers provided by Taste Catering will showcase an assortment of Portuguese dishes.

There will also be a Consumer Master Class at 6 pm, entitled, “Modern Portugal: Explore Contemporary Approaches, Classic Grapes and Exciting Wines”, featuring a selection of ten wines from eight regions. Limited seating.

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Meals on Wheels of San Francisco. Learn more how the organization helps to “alleviate the food insecurity and loneliness experienced by seniors who want to stay in their own home but cannot shop or prepare meals for themselves.
