“Six Metres of Pavement” depicts “Little Portugal” – Book

Canadian author, Farzana Doctor launched her second novel, Six Metres of Pavement, a fictional cross-cultural account of life in “Little Portugal” the Portuguese community of Toronto.  Doctor who lives in the Brockton Triangle area said that the book  is very much inspired by her neighborhood.

In the book, Ismail Boxwala befriends Fátima and Célia, two Portuguese-Canadian women from the “Little Portugal” area.  A romance develops between Ismail and Célia.

Doctor is an academic writer on social work topics but in the last 10 years she has written primarily fiction. Her first novel, Stealing Nasreen,  received positive reviews.
