Frederico Pacheco, a longtime resident of Bristol, Rhode Island, will travel to Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores, to launch a book of memoirs. The event, to be presided by Rubens Pavão, will be held on November 18, at Centro Municipal de Cultura in Ponta Delgada.
Through personal narratives and anedoctes, the book titled “Citizen of the World – My Memoirs” reflects on the author’s immigrant experiences, his many travels and family stories.
Born on São Miguel Island, in 1935, in the town of São Roque, Frederico Pacheco emigrated to the United States in 1967 seeking adventure and opportunity.
A distinguished Portuguese American community leader, Pacheco operated Pacheco Travel Agency headquarted in Bristol, Rhode Island, for over 35 years. He was a founding member of the Association of Professional Travel Agents. The book was launched in the United States last September.
