2011 EU/US Atlantis Program – Request Grants

The EU/US Atlantis Program, jointly funded by the European Commission and the US Department of Education, announced that a new call for proposals has been launched  to fund innovative projects which are designed to develop and implement double or joint “transatlantic degrees” for students in the EU and U.S.  The EU alone has made over 6.4 million euros available for 25 projects.

The EU/US Atlantis Program encourages European and American universities to create long-term partnerships, establish joint study programs and exchange students across the Atlantic, and supports projects to promote other forms of EU-US cooperation in higher education and vocational training, including mobility projects and policy-oriented measures.

Submission of grant requests under this call is open to higher education institutions and vocational education and training institutions.

For policy-oriented projects, the call is also open to other organizations such as research institutes, business groups and education agencies. Each project must have one lead institution in the EU and one lead institution in the US.

Alert: The EU/US Atlantis Program also announced that, following the delayed publication of the Atlantis Call in the US, the deadline for the EU-US call has been postponed to 24th May, 2011 and that an official corrigendum to the publication in the EU’s Official Journal will be issued.
